The medical work has been extra busy in October and no end in site. Both of the surgeons here, David McAdam and Winston McEwan have had marathon sessions for over a month and there are still plenty of patients from all over the country waiting for surgery.

Almost every day vehicles and ambulances arrive from great distances of up to 550 kilometres bringing sick folks for help. We are thankful for hearing of at least two incidents just last week when patients who were admitted in hospital with only a very short time left to live trusted in the Lord, one lady just the night before she died. Some of our Christian staff have taken a real interest in spending time with the patients and sharing the Gospel which is often the only Hope we can give as a lot of cases are medically hopeless having arrived far to late to be helped.

The AIDS epidemic is devastating and the consequences of it are seen daily. To date this year the hospital records show that there have been over 700 major surgical procedures carried out which is a tremendous number of cases in the environment in which we operate.

We are thankful for the help of Dr. Desmond Norris from Canada who is currently at Chitokoloki assisting in the large number of surgical cases.
